About me

Hi, I’m Edith (she/her). I am an advanced trainee psychotherapist in Transactional Analysis based in Spain.

I believe it can help people feel safer and more able to take risks in therapy when they have some sense of who their therapist is and what they stand for, so I want to share a bit about me.

Intersectionality is central to how I understand people and relationships

Some of the identities I bring into the room include being queer, a cis woman, white, fat, non-monogamous, and neurodivergent. These experiences shape how I see the world and how I show up in the work. They are also part of why I think it is important that people can bring their own identities, histories, and contexts into therapy rather than feeling they need to leave parts of themselves at the door.

Intersectionality is central to how I understand people and relationships, and it is one of the reasons I chose to train at TA East in London. I hold in mind that therapy does not happen outside of the wider world. Our identities, our histories, and the systems around us all shape how we experience ourselves and others. At the same time, I am aware that the therapy relationship carries a certain power dynamic. Being thoughtful about how that power shows up, and working to create a space where your own knowledge and experience remain central, is an important part of how I practice.

Community has also been a key aspect of my path into psychotherapy. A few years ago I founded El Faro, a queer and neurodivergent community space in Granada. It has grown into a place for workshops, peer support groups, and community conversations. Being part of that project shapes my understanding of mental health in a profound way and reinforces my belief that healing does not only happen in therapy rooms. Community, belonging, and shared spaces of care matter deeply.

In my work I often pay attention to patterns in how people think, feel, and relate to others. These patterns usually developed as ways of coping with earlier environments and relationships. Together we can start to notice them, understand where they come from, and decide whether they still fit the life you want now.

Community, belonging, and shared spaces of care matter deeply.

I offer therapy in both English and Spanish and I enjoy working with people who move between cultures and contexts.

Before moving into psychotherapy I worked as a designer, and that part of me is still very present. I enjoy thinking about how things are structured and how systems influence the way we move through the world. I was born in London but have lived in AndalucĂa since I was eight, so moving between languages and cultures has shaped my life for a long time. I am an advanced trainee psychotherapist in Transactional Analysis at TA East in London and a trainee member of UKCP (membership: 2011194195) and UKATA (membership: 30314). I also completed a 6 month course with Psiconogamias in Madrid titled “Therapeutic Support for Non-Monogamous People.” I abide by the ethical codes of UKCP, UKATA and EATA. I work under regular supervision as part of my training, and I see feedback and reflection as an important part of ethical practice.
